James Tolich’s Stylized, Emotive Imagery Catches Your Eye

[ad_1]

We have previously featured a selection of Tolich’s work; and in the time since, the photographer has expanded his portfolio considerably. Now based between New York and Paris, Tolich has been commissioned by Wallpaper* Magazine, Hermes, and Barneys New York. In addition to his commercial and personal work is a black and white photo book due for publication this year; a tender look at those who inhabit Australia’s version of muscle beach in Bondi, Sydney. He has also shot ‘Mary and Nigre’, a series depicting the relationship of an aging mother and her daughter, and the cinematic short film ‘Scribble’, an angelic portrayal of a young boy experimenting with makeup. Tolich considers all elements of his practice thoroughly, and his ability to portray emotion in each frame is indicative of his exciting future in photography.
