“The show responds to the lack of female perspectives throughout society”, Völker told IGNANT. “The exhibited works were all created exclusively for the show, expressing concepts of community, women in craft, femininity, and social injustice”, she explains. The contributing artists span the fields of furniture and object design, sculpture, textile, architecture, and painting. Highlighted pieces include a minimal ‘Reading Seat’ by Paula Clavería; ‘Mamma’, a red sculpted fountain by art collective Cierto Estudio; and ‘Tez’, a moving sculpture and series of drawings by Carla Cascales Alimbau, whom we have previously featured. The exhibition was curated for Ox Poblenou, aptly timed for the recent International Women’s Day.
