Internationally renowned French artist Invader is back with another set of mosaics. For his latest invasion, the artist unleashed 58 mosaics dedicated to the Star Wars franchise on the Tunisian island of Djerba.

The eye-catching works celebrate the release of the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker movie in locations where the original cult films were shot. The mosaic tributes include a pixelated Obi-Wan Kenobi installed onto the Jedi’s house from the 1977 film and a Stormtrooper artwork placed in the location where Luke and Obi-wan first met Han Solo and Chewbacca.
In a statement published to his website, Invader explained why he chose Djerba for his latest works.
“The island of Djerba in Tunisia is well known for its sandy beaches, white dome-shaped roofing houses, date palm trees, white sand beaches but also locations of the first Star Wars movie,” he wrote. “This is also the 79th territory hit by the Invasion with a total score of 58 mosaics installed throughout the island.”
