Backyard Birds: Backyard garden serenade by Nathan Watson

We are thrilled to showcase the outstanding finalist photos from the 2023 Birdlife Australia Photography Awards. This calendar year, we have been inundated with more than 6,000 submissions from some of Australia’s very best hen photographers.
Panel of judges meticulously reviewed each individual entry and have picked the best 68 photographs, every single a single capturing the beautiful natural beauty of birdlife. Hold an eye out for the announcement of the winners in November. BirdLife Australia has been at the forefront of chicken conservation for about a century, dedicated to preserving birds and their habitats. We remain steadfast in our mission to safeguard these splendid creatures and their environments. We lengthen our deepest gratitude to our sponsors, Nikon Australia and Lake Cowal Basis, for their generous contribution to the 2023 Awards.
