Woman Gives Honest Look at Pregnancy with Hilarious Week-by-Week Photos

Like many pregnant women, self-described “letter board weirdo” Maya Vorderstrasse enjoys sharing her maternity milestones on social media. While most moms-to-be opt to document the pleasant aspects of pregnancy, Vorderstrasse’s hilarious photos give an honest account of her experiences as an expectant mother.

From “flaring sciatica” and swollen feet to an insatiable appetite and exaggerated mood swings, the comical series of photos captures the not-so-nice side of pregnancy. Inspired by the ample collection of pregnancy posts on Instagram, each picture shows Vorderstrasse posing next to her letter board, which shares how far along she is and details her prenatal progress. Rather than list cute quirks like baby measurements or peculiar cravings, however, the board details the aches, pains, and inconveniences that expecting a baby often entails.

Fortunately for Vorderstrasse, her due date countdown came to an end mid-August, when she gave birth to a beautiful baby daughter. And, while being a parent to a young baby (and a one-year-old!) is tough, Vorderstrasse has shared that she is now over “2 weeks postpartum and kicking its butt!”

She has even continued the series following the birth of her daughter.

Praising our GOD in tears because just like that, our family is complete! Don’t act like you don’t know . It has been rough, but we are getting there.There’s blood, excruciating pain, and so many tears, but I’d do it all over again for her. If it hadn’t worked out, she would have been bottle fed too like Zoey was after 6 months, because feeding your baby shouldn’t be anyone’s business but yours and baby’s!!! And somehow managed to make me cry! I’M LIKE GO AWAY. NO, STAY! HUG ME. NO, DON’T TOUCH ME! UGH!!!!! . Hormones made me cry because: I couldn’t find the remote I made an ugly pancake I was scared Tim’s car would fall into a lake (WHAT THE ?)
