Govaert & Vanhoutte’s Residence FSD, A Linear Concrete Villa In The Belgian Woods

“A strong definition of outside space is part of the architecture, creating a clear boundary between forest and building,” explains the firm. From the street, the home appears to be completely closed off, enabling privacy for the residents. Inside the home, it completely opens up with glass walls spanning the entire south-facing facade. The villa takes its shape in the form of two rectilinear blocks; the top floor cantilevers out over the bottom, and features all of the living and dining spaces, “where the view of the landscape is at its best.”

The master bedroom and bathroom are on the east of the building, with a small patio flooding natural light into the room. Generously-sized terraces form the outdoor spaces, with a minimal infinity pool looking out to the woods ahead.
