Japan boasts many extraordinary “Great Buddha” statues, but the Ushiku Daibutsu in Ibaraki prefecture is perhaps its most photogenic. Surrounded by attractive flower gardens, the 120 meter tall bronze Buddha is the tallest statue in Japan and third tallest in the globe. On clear times and from the right angle, you can even capture a spectacular shot of the Ushiku Daibutsu and Mount Fuji with each other.
Talented Japanese photographer Tatsuto Shibata (earlier) also caught the imposing Fantastic Buddha at a very certain moment. When going to the Ushiku Daibutsu, he really caught a handful of shots of what appeared to be the Buddha crying!
