The Photographs Of Charlotte Lapalus Let The Light In

[ad_1]

Working predominantly in fashion photography, the photographic oeuvre of the Marseille-born and based artist is united in its preference for warm colors and unique settings. With soft and subtle lighting, Lapalus creates ambient scenes that seem to suggest stories beyond the frame. Though she constructs narratives or themes for each project, the moments she captures seem honest, and her subjects at ease. Inspired by the work of Magnum photographers Martin Parr and Raymond Depardon, Lapalus has been inspired to move from photographing landscapes to photographing models. The work of Parr and Depardon is also possibly responsible for her merging of the two elements in fashion editorials that take place in unusual outdoor settings.
