This Artist Photographs The Long-Haired Women Of Latin America » Design You Trust

Argentine photographer Irina Werning (formerly showcased) has created a distinctive series of pics. Imaginative portraits of very long-haired girls have been her focus for 17 years. The project, “Dear Prolonged Hair,” features young children and adults with long hair.

The creator described how the project commenced: “For indigenous communities, hair is the physical manifestation of our ideas and an extension of ourselves, and the same is genuine for Mother Earth’s views like vegetation escalating and rivers flowing in nature. Indigenous communities practiced reverence, humility, and reciprocity because of their deep non secular relationship to Earth.
