The circular guest house is composed of two simple volumes, and is topped with a cone-shaped roof. On one side lies the guest room, where visitors can immerse themselves in nature: a ribbon-window wraps its way around the space, heightening the scenic views and prioritizing a sense of the environment. On the other side, the bathroom and storage space are arranged in a simple rectangular volume. “The Mushroom house adopts a lifted steel structure to minimize the impact of construction on the site,” the firm explains. As time goes by, green plants on the ground will gradually spread to embrace the building. “The cone-shape roof is cladded with pine wood, while the rest of the house is coated with granolithic concrete,” they continue. “The material changes in color with humidity and time, allowing the building to harmonize with the surrounding natural environment.”
