People Are Crocheting Tiny Kitty Couches for Their Favorite Felines

Cats often think that the entire house is their domain to lounge wherever they please. But maybe, with the help of some quirky DIYs, these felines will stay off the couch—because they’ll now have their own cat-sized version of it. A recent crafting trend has people crocheting miniature couches that are meant just for their kitties. Some of the furniture even includes an adorable granny square afghan to drape over the back or arms.
Aptly called “Kitty Couches,” these intermediate-level crochet patterns are available on the internet for anyone to try. There are multiple approaches and styles of seating so they can be tailored to fit a human’s—or more importantly, their cat’s—aesthetic. Perhaps the feline wants a love seat, or maybe they’d prefer a cozy chair. Regardless of the pattern choice, each uses yarn, multiple crochet needles, as well as foam and fiberfill to give the pieces their shape and make them look like the full-sized thing.
