Visit This Cool Bookstore in Nova Scotia to Adopt Your Next Furry Friend

[ad_1]

Nova Scotia-based Otis and Clementine’s Books and Coffee is a place with many offerings. Not only are there used books to peruse and java to enjoy, but the establishment can also be a way to find your next furry friend. Among the stacks roam adorable foster kittens and cats that are just waiting for you to fall in love and take one of them home.

When you enter the cozy bookstore, you’re greeted by the small creatures who relish in taking advantage of all that the space has to offer. They enjoy climbing in (and out of) the cardboard boxes, basking in the sunlight at the front door, and taking every opportunity to pounce on one another.

Ellen Helmke, the owner of Otis and Clementine’s, began fostering felines in the store in the spring of 2019 and has no plans to stop. It has become a big draw of the place—patrons can’t help but share all the kittens’ adorable antics on Instagram. And their presence, according to Helmke, has been a “win-win” for her business as well as the tiny creatures. People are drawn in by the prospect of snuggling a cute cat while the kitties themselves become socialized.

If you were to visit Otis and Clementine’s in hopes of adopting a cat, know that they don’t stay in the shop for that long. Sometimes, an entire litter is spoken for within a week. That’s faster than it takes to read many of the books in Helmke’s store!
