The end of a year is always a time for reflection, and one way we’re remembering 2019 is through creative products. From items produced by a small studio to some of the world’s biggest brands, we were captivated by the design, whimsy, and ingenuity of these objects.

One of the biggest trends we saw in 2019—more so than in other years—was how popular culture ruled the product landscape. The iconic sitcom Friends saw its 25th anniversary and, to celebrate, there was a Friends version of Monopoly released for the first time in the U.S. as well as a LEGO “Central Perk” coffee shop. And LEGO didn’t stop there. Among other things, they released a 1989 Batmobile kit commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Tim Burton-directed film titled Batman.

If you’ve had your fill of pop culture nostalgia, don’t worry. There are plenty of items on this list that have nothing to do with television or film. One of our favorite things was a set of embroidery-inspired temporary tattoos. Designed by Tessa Perlow and produced by Tattly, the floral motifs touched on a big tattooing trend in 2019—body art made to look like it’s been stitched into your skin.
