12 Captivating Pics From The Global Photo Series Showing “Where Children Sleep”

[ad_1]

English-born photographer, James Mollison, created the book “Where Children Sleep” with the intention of giving his readers a glimpse of the inequalities faced by children from different parts of the world, by showing the differences between their bedrooms.

The project aims to capture the vast differences between each child’s circumstances, from luxurious to destitute. There’s the little girl from Japan whose mom spends $1000 dollars on dresses monthly and then there’s another little girl from Nepali who has slept in a granary since she was three years old.

Published in 2010, the book covers living conditions in countries such as; the U.S.A., Mexico, Brazil, England, Italy, Israel, Kenya, Senegal, Lesotho, Nepal, China, as well as India and aims to create a sense of appreciation for those who are privileged to have better conditions and to be aware of the vastly different circumstances people have to live with.
