A Guest Pavilion For A Residence In Valencia

Renowned studio Fran Silvestre Arquitectos have constructed a minimalist guest pavilion in their home city of Valencia, offering an autonomous extension to the main residence built by the studio.

‘Guest Pavilion’ covers a modest 70 square meters in the large garden grounds, presenting an architecture of comfortable human scale. The pavilion is partitioned into three rooms, a bedroom and living area with a kitchen and a bathroom, enclosed within a slim, single volume unit that adopts a panoramic-style form. With large panel windows, this structure enables a closeness to the surrounding nature.

The architects have minimised the pavilion’s visual impact on the garden from the perspective of the main house, by situating the construction as perpendicular, visible in width rather than length. Throughout, the residence has been painted white and employs a minimalist aesthetic, drawing attention to exterior natural details including newly planted trees, including a centenary olive tree, a liquidambar and a pomegranate tree.
