Arturo Bamboo’s Mediterranean Abstracts Takes Our Minds To Places Of Wonder

[ad_1]

During quarantine as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, partners in life and business Arthur Groeneveld and Bamboo van Kampen have taken a closer look at the time before the pandemic, with an intimate recollection of their travels along the Mediterranean coast. “The series was born in response to the current uncertain times, where we find ourselves confined to our home,” the duo explains. “We dived into our archive and found a minimalist collection of Mediterranean memories with a calming palette”. Shot on film, the warm, ethereal images serve as mementos of a blissful simplicity that once was, as well as avenues of escape for both the photographers and the viewer. “These abstracts are able to evoke those perfect memories and bring the hot summer sun, salty sea, and warm sand a little closer in reach,” they share. Through the crisp, clean lines mixed with voluminous shapes and delicately lit details, viewers get a glimpse of the beautiful landscapes and dreamy atmospheres we will soon be able to visit again.
