‘Dental Plumper’ Jaw Prosthetic Worn by Marlon Brando in The Godfather, 1972

Marlon Brando wanted to make Don Corleone ‘look like a bulldog,’ so he stuffed his cheeks with wool and cotton for the audition.

When filming the motion picture, he asked a dentist to make him a personalized mouthpiece to generate his sagging jowls.

The dental plumper was intended by legendary make-up artist Dick Smith and created by a New York dentist named Henry Dwork. Their 1st prototype utilized a lot more comfy foam latex, but it designed Brando’s encounter to seem way too soft and droopy, so he experienced them remaking it in metal and resin. ⁣⁣
