Mathilde Agius, a freelance photographer based in London, explores the limits of fashion photography with her bold use of color and brazen eye.
Agius has a wide and impressive portfolio, with her work appearing in the likes of AnOther magazine, COS Magazine, Art Review and Interview Magazin among many others. Much of her photography is tongue in cheek — she captures people in unusual poses, or Louis Vuitton heels with hands instead of feet sitting inside. Powerful femininity emanates from her photography, seen in the images of the topless woman cast in a golden hue or the woman giving the mirror an eyeful while applying her lipstick. Throughout her body of work, Agius uses bright lighting and bold colours, making her subjects appear confident and allowing them to dominate the frame.
