In Axel Arigato’s New Store Bulbous Colored Sculptures Are Used To Display Fashion Collections

The high-end footwear brand is spread out across two storeys, which are united by a monumental staircase made from raw concrete; designed to give the first floor an inviting atmosphere. To illuminate the space, panels of LED lights are attached to the painted black ceiling in straight and jagged lines, forming a striking pattern. The grey color palette of the staircase, walls, and floor is accented by pops of fluro green and blue: large, bulbous sculptures made of jesmonite and dipped in a high gloss lacquer, exist as podiums to display the collections. They are interesting objects not only for their function, but as unique design objects in themselves. “Our mission has always been to work without boundaries and bridge fashion, art, commerce, and community, ” explains Svardh. “I approach our store formats as I design sneakers: the shape of the object comes first, the material is secondary.” The store houses the men’s and women’s footwear and ready-to-wear collections, as well as accessories, a selection of rare books, magazines, and design objects.
