Marta Ayala Herrera’s Minimal, Geometric Furniture Designs

[ad_1]

Herrera’s functional pieces are dynamic: they can be configured and positioned in various ways depending on the desires of the user, thus enhancing spatial versatility. The designer explains that the visual relationship between subject and object is materialized through the “geometric language” of her work. She experiments with different industrial materials—raw metal tubes, wood, glass, granite, and steel, creating interior objects that include mirrors, tables, and benches; a selection of which are featured below. “I am always interested in exploring new materials and new ways of experiencing the world”, explains Herrera, “because design is what connects people with their own reality.”
