Nvidia, an American technology company, recently unveiled a new technology that can remove grain and watermarks from photos. The surprising thing is, AI only needs the corrupted images to fix them and no ‘clean’ pictures are required. “It is possible to learn to restore signals without ever observing clean ones, at performance sometimes exceeding training using clean exemplars,” said the researchers.
This new technology will help get clearer images from pictures taken in low-light conditions, such as astrophotography. It could even be used in the medical field, where it would help remove ‘noise’ from magnetic resonance images.
