Since the age of thirteen, Patcharavipa Bodiratnangkura has been making jewellery. Today, her practice has evolved into the creation of contemporary heirlooms, under the eponymous label Patcharavipa. The designs remain handcrafted and fall in line with the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, which values the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The Spring Summer 2017 campaign presents a jewellery collection that employs Patcharavipa’s usual celebration of natural forms and unexpected materials, such as coconut shells and Siam gold. Photographed by Lena C. Emery and following the art direction of London-based studio OK-RM, the editorial series aligns Patcharavipa’s designs with natural and man-made sculptural forms. The sense of timelessness perceivable in the images reflects the traditional principles and influences valued by the contemporary label.
