Pettersen & Hein’s Latest Design Works Are More Facetious Than Ever

[ad_1]

The flourishing, contemporary design scene in Copenhagen is arguably one of the world’s best: with a new generation of creators redefining the benchmark for design, how does one excel in their field? With their playful and meticulously crafted pieces, Norwegian artist Magnus Pettersen and Danish furniture designer Lea Hein—whom we have featured previously—are. The latest work by the duo includes ‘Your Private Sky’, a unique table commissioned for a newly renovated apartment. The piece, like all others, was handmade at their studio, and features a textured, off-white asymmetric top and two different supporting legs: a rough, knobbly leg made of concrete that looks akin to a white lava rock, and a sleek, stainless steel leg that curves in an ‘S’ shape. Moreover, the ‘LMA (Lick My Ass) Chair’ was created for last year’s Mindcraft exhibition at Salone del Mobile in Milan: the personified furniture piece is made from stacked concrete blocks and bent aluminium, facetiously poking its red tongue out in a manner that aptly explains its title.
