Photographer Enoch Ku Finds Artistic Visual Moments In His Series Ordinary Sacramento

[ad_1]

“The project seeks to visually communicate the language of Sacramento in California, its neighborhoods, and its inhabitants in the familiar but often overlooked places,” Ku tells us. Arising from the dissatisfaction of the pace of modern life, Ku began to deliberately slow down and take in more of his surroundings. “Hurrying had left me disconnected from the world and unable to be present in the moment,” he says. Camera in hand, the photographer began exploring the liveliness found in the inhabited spaces of Sacramento, in the spaces that are seen and occupied but are often passed by without notice. The resulting series, a selection of which is featured below, portrays playful shapes and shadows in public spaces, reminding us to lighten up and find humor in the everyday. “There is beauty found in the mundane moments of life,” he continues, “beautiful ordinary moments that are occurring all around us whether we see them or not.”
