Strange Plants III: Exploring Regrowth To Honor Ren Hang

Exploring plants through the prism of contemporary art, Strange Plants iii is the third in a series of beautifully designed botanical books published by the independent publishing house, Zioxla.

Through three sections—Pollination’, ‘Petals’, and ‘Regrowth’ (an ode to Ren Hang, whose work featured in Strange Plants ii)—the volume explores the literal and symbolic use of plants by artists. With the work of fifty creatives featured, the publication features luminous cactus, abstracted still lifes, and nudes silhouetted against the moss-clad lava fields. It is a rumination on nature, and our relationship to it: are we alien to the landscape, or are we organic matter—just like plants?
