Enchanting Necklaces Contain Tiny Pieces of the Moon

In an iconic scene from the classic Christmas film It’s A Wonderful Life, the main character (George Bailey) promises his love interest an unconventional gift: the moon. This holiday season, this galactic gift can actually be yours thanks to British brand Eclectic Eccentricity’s new moon dust necklace.

Aptly and adorably named “If I Could Give You the Moon Dust,” each out-of-this-world necklace features a glass, teardrop-shaped pendant containing an actual piece of a lunar meteorite (a meteor that originates on the moon and passes through earth’s atmosphere). The moon dust in this necklace is from lunar meteorite 7959, which struck the sands of Morocco in 2013. Lunar meteorites are extremely rare, with only 180 ever discovered, making this pretty piece of jewelry even more special. “So much for gold dust,” the product description reads. “Try finding Lunar dust!”

Every neat necklace features a gold star pendant, sterling silver chain, glass bauble, and, of course, a tiny, silver-y piece of the moon. Each necklace is available for £120 (about $150). However, Eclectic Eccentricity also offers “imperfect” ones for a reduced price, making the moon finally within reach.
