Jim Meskimen Uses Deepfake Technology to Impersonate 20 Celebrities

Deepfake Celebrity Impressions Poem by Jim Meskimen

Being able to accurately impersonate celebrities by voice alone is already impressive, but American comedian and actor Jim Meskimen takes it to the next level by adding deepfake technology into the mix. The talented actor recently uploaded a video to YouTube, where he’s captured reciting his poem, Pity the Poor Impressionist, in 20 celebrity voices. With the help of deepfake artist SHAM00K, Meskimen not only sounds just like each personality, but he looks like them too!

As Meskimen changes from one voice to another, his face morphs to mimic that of each of the celebrities. From John Malkovich to Nicholas Cage, each flawless impression appears as though the real celebrity is standing in front of the camera. The incredible video was made from 1,200 hours of footage, 300,000 images, and took 250 hours and 1 terabyte of data to create. The end result is both eerie and mesmerizing, but one thing’s for sure—it’s amazing what today’s technology can do!
