Man Rescues Every Animal From a Shelter After It Caught on Fire

On December 18, 2020, a fireplace ruined the kitchen at W-Underdogs animal shelter in Atlanta, Georgia. There had been six dogs and 10 cats dwelling there that were being trapped inside. Luckily for us, a 53-yr-old male encountering homelessness named Keith Walker went by and identified the shelter up in flames. He promptly rushed inside and saved every single one pet.

“I was nervous as hell, I am not heading to lie. I was genuinely worried to go in there with all that smoke. But God set me there to help you save those people animals,” Walker recollects. “If you appreciate a pet, you can appreciate everyone in the planet. My puppy is my finest pal, and I wouldn’t be here without him, so I understood I experienced to help you save all these other dogs.”

Walker was already common with the shelter, as his very own dog—a pitbull named Bravo—stays there just about every evening. Walker—who has been encountering homelessness since age 13—met W-Underdogs founder Gracie Hamlin a number of many years ago. Not only did she provide foodstuff and shelter for his canine, but she also gave Walker various work opportunities at the shelter. Walker was on his way to obtain Bravo and get him for a walk when he identified the hearth. “He is my guardian angel,” Hamlin says. “Even the firefighters did not want to take care of the canines. They named animal manage, but Keith was now in the making pulling out the cats and puppies right until they ended up all safe and sound.”

Whilst the shelter was not absolutely destroyed by the hearth, it was no for a longer period safe and sound for the animals to are living there. Thankfully, W-Underdogs was previously equipped to move into a new facility in Atlanta, where by the animals were being introduced to safety. W-Underdogs set up a GoFundMe page, in which people can donate revenue to Walker. As of writing, the campaign has lifted about $55,000! Some persons who donated also wrote opinions, thanking Walker for his bravery.
