From a perplexing blue/gold dress to dots that disappear with the blink of an eye, there’s been plenty of strange optical illusions that have stumped Internet users and sparked heated debates. The latest puzzle to have gone viral is a photo posted by Twitter user Rebecca Reilly (@rebeccareilly__) which shows an abstract wash of blue and beige hues. While some are adamant the image shows a beach on its side, others think the image could be a close-up of a blue door.
Those on “Team Door” turned to scientific theory for the answer, suggesting that the line of darkness between the blueish and greenish areas wouldn’t exist if it was a beach. To further enlighten their naysayers, one Twitter user explained how to view the image to see the door: “Blue door with a green frame and a white wall.” However, “Team Beach” was adamant that “Everything about it looks like a beach.”
Reilly tried to settle the debate by creating a Twitter poll, resulting in a win for Team Door (46% Beach, 54% Door). However, a few days after her initial Tweet, she decided to reveal the mystery, showing that the image was of a beach all along. What do you see?
People can’t decide if this optical illusion posted by Twitter user Rebecca Reilly is a beach or a door.

The darker the color, the deeper the water is from the bottom. It kinda looks like a beach to me and the greenish color near the sand is natural. I can still be wrong tho. Guy who took the pic should appear now before a new world war breaks out. pic.twitter.com/8ndWB5kjO6

Search for ‘Beach’ on Google, and you won’t find one image that has any green and/or blue water that falls off in a perfect line from medium color to dark, indicating that there would have to be a mile long shelf in the ocean where the sand just drops off into the deep. No way.
