Photography Book Focuses on Pain and Suffering of Black Mothers

In 2014, spurred into motion by the senseless murders of Black gentlemen at the fingers of law enforcement, photographer Jon Henry begun Stranger Fruit. Through haunting portraits, Henry asks mothers to act out what it will have to really feel like to reduce their sons. Cradled in their arms like the Pietà, these boys and males lay lifeless as their mothers are left to pick up the parts.
