You Can Now Donate Your Old LEGO Bricks to Kid’s Charities

Do you have LEGO bricks from your childhood that you don’t know what to do with? Or maybe you have kids with pieces they no longer play with? In a new initiative by LEGO, called LEGO Replay, you can donate your old plastic bricks, sets, and elements to kids who will give them a new life.

The program is run in partnership with Give Back Box, a company that provides convenient methods of donating used household items to various charities. The process is simple—just pack up any LEGO pieces into a cardboard box and visit the campaign website to print out a free shipping label. The package will then be sent to the Give Back Box facility, where each brick will be sorted, inspected, and cleaned. The boxes of LEGO will then be sent to non-profit charities—Teach for America and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston—that will distribute the toys to kids in need.

“We know people don’t throw away their LEGO bricks,” says Tim Brooks, Vice President of Environmental Responsibility at the LEGO group. “The vast majority hand them down to their children or grandchildren. But others have asked us for a safe way to dispose of or to donate their bricks. With Replay, they have an easy option that’s both sustainable and socially impactful.”
