Alexandra Leese’s Photography Is Inspired By Her Own Roots

Based in London, Hong Kong-born fashion and portrait photographer Alexandra Leese finds her inspiration from her travels between the two cities.

Cinematically capturing diverse moments, Leese’s work features much light and texture. She has shot for magazines and fashion brands including GQ, Vogue, i-D, and Nike. Studying fine art at Chelsea College of Art, Alex hadn’t considered photography as a way to express her creativity. Leese started with a digital camera to take pictures of people for her paintings before her tutor discovered and developed her talent for photography. Alex’s painterly background sticks in her natural ability to sculpt the bodies of her subjects into shapes characterized by a loose and lounging elegance.
