Dino Kužnik Photographs Highways And Heat In Arizona

[ad_1]

There is a sense of stillness to Kužnik’s images; Arizona’s ever blue skies are permeated by an aching, windless heat that sits heavy on the landscape he depicts. Human interventions are set amongst this haze of sunshine; a stop sign is silhouetted against the red rock of Monument Valley, homes with pastel facades stand faded by the sun, and a horse—that could be a trick of the endless light—walks across a winding highway. In this thoughtful documentation of his new home, Kužnik aesthetically merges a nostalgia for ’80s pastels with road trips through the American West in what he calls “a love letter…to a desolate landscape”.
