Life-Sized Giraffe Sculpture Holds a Chandelier in It’s Mouth

Italian designer Marcantonio teamed up with Qeeboo to create Giraffe in Love. The designers say, “Giraffe in Love represents irony and lightness: The giraffe is in love but she does not know it yet because her heart is far from her head and she lives love light-heartedly.”

Marcantonio is inspired by the relationship between man and nature, but his pieces always have a playful side. He often channels his child-like imagination to come up with his whimsical designs, and the Giraffe in Love piece is no exception. Available in a variety of colors—including black, white, and a range of pastel hues—it stands 2.6 meters tall (approximately 8.5 feet), mimicking the average size of a real, young giraffe. Each piece holds a classic Marie-Therese-style chandelier in its mouth that’s completely wind and water resistant, allowing customers to choose between placing Giraffe in Love inside or outside.

If you don’t have the space for a life-sized giraffe, you can opt for a wall version (173 cm / 5.7 ft) or a miniature standing version that’s just 1 meter tall (3.3 feet). And if giraffes aren’t your thing, Marcantonio has designed a whole zoo of animal light fixtures that are sure to bring out your wild side.
