Isabelle Feliu Illustrates A New Era Of Fashion And Femininity

[ad_1]

Discovering that Isabelle Feliu has a background in fashion is unsurprising; the illustrative work of the Québécoise-Honduran, Oslo-based artist is delicately designed and populated by elegantly poised female characters.

Feliu first began illustrating in 2016, a decision spurred on by her move to Oslo in Norway. Working predominantly in watercolor and gouache, her illustrations feature women in different settings that are variously real and dreamlike. Her characters have a physical presence; they’re not waif-like, but strong in their proportions. They’re also beautifully diverse, and while Feliu has noted that she doesn’t aim to make political statements in her work, her visions of femininity are certainly moving towards an idea of inclusivity that deems all bodies as beautiful.
