The Anonymous Urban Environment Captured By Daniel Everett

After interning with Edward Burtynsky, famous for his photographs of human manipulation of the landscape, Utah-based photographer Daniel Everett refined his exploration of the urban environment. “I got really interested in the in-between places that we passed through: the nondescript, transitory spaces like subway systems, airports, parking garages, and hotels,” the photographer explains. “Spaces that are meant to be legible regardless of the language, and where the aesthetics are governed by function.” In this collection of images, Everett creates anonymous studies of form, colour and structures that occur in a metropolitan space as it transforms, presenting a view of city life in unceasing flux.
