The Visual Autobiography Of Mark Sommerfeld

Toronto-based photographer Mark Sommerfeld predominantly works on autobiographical projects, documenting his life and the people he shares it with.

Sommerfeld’s work often meditates on poignant moments in his life. Earlier this year, he exhibited a series of photographs in ‘We With Images To Give’–a joint show with his ex girlfriend that contemplated the breakdown of their relationship. The photographer’s other projects fall in line with this openness, presenting intimate views of his day-to-day experiences, capturing close up portraits of friends, families and documenting their shared environments.
